16/11/26 U.S. Capitol Dome
The U.S. Capitol Dome is one of the most significant symbols for American politics. Housing the senate in one wing of the building and the house of representatives in the other wing, the capitol stands for the voice of the people (Legislative). The dome is continuously expanding and contracting due to temperature changes, because it is made out of cast iron. That is also the reason why a major maintenance of $60million was needed about 150 years after construction. Notably, the painting "Apotheosis of Washington" looks bright in colors and strong in contrast even though it has never been repainted since its completion in 1865.

Damit symbolisiert das Gebäude die Stimme des Volkes. Da die Kuppel des Capitols aus Gusseisen gefertigt ist, expandiert und kontrahiert sie mit ständigen Temperaturänderungen. Unlängst wurde eine notwendige Renovierung der Eisenkonstruktion vervollständigt.
