When visiting Guilin (桂林市) or Yangshuo (阳朔县) I definitely recommend a river cruise on the Li Jiang (漓江). From the cruiser ships you will have a good view on the picturesque landscape.
This theme is that famous that you will find it on the 20元 note!
I recommend spending some days in the village of Yangshuo (阳朔县) and enjoying the small stores of the alleys. You will be fascinated by all the visual impressions and smells of exotic spices. Especially the chili-garlic mixtures that are exhibited on the street are especially recognizable from quite a distance due to their strong and intense smell.
You can reach the "Moon Hill" (月亮山) by motorbike and do a short hiking trip to the interestingly shaped rocks. On the top of the mountain, you will have an amazing view over the "Yangshuo County" (阳朔县).
