Audi Q4 - making everyday driving a joy

Audi Q4 & Mochi on the Mt Washington summit road in New Hampshire

From a young age, I’ve been captivated by Audi. My earliest memories include riding in my dad’s company car—an Audi A6—a reward for his hard work and a privilege I deeply appreciated growing up. That early exposure sparked a fascination that stayed with me throughout my life.

In college, my passion led me to participate in a social media contest Audi hosted in 2013, called #onemillionreasons. The challenge asked fans to share what made them love the brand. For my final submission, I wrote a short poem inspired by Kim Casali’s “Love Is...” cartoon series:

Audi is… treating the journey as the destination

Audi is… leveraging traffic jam to relax

Audi is… savoring the transformation of every drop of fuel

Audi is… heading into the blizzard and leaving the tire chains at home

Audi is… re-defining what it means to enjoy driving, comfort and perfection

Audi is… realizing dreams

That poem won me the competition—and with it, the incredible experience of driving an Audi RS4 for three days in Austria. Earlier in the contest, I also received Audi-branded Christmas ornaments, which I still bring out every year as a reminder of that moment.

I’ve had the thrill of driving on the Autobahn, reaching speeds of up to 160 mph (260 kph). At that pace, you truly become one with the vehicle—you feel the precision engineering, the stability at high speed, and the way Audi balances performance, safety, and comfort even under extreme conditions.

Since childhood, I’ve dreamed of owning an Audi myself. But during college and the early stages of my career, owning a car wasn’t practical—especially with Germany’s excellent public transportation. That changed when I moved to the United States in 2016. The American Dream, combined with a car-centric culture, created the perfect opportunity. After years of working and planning, I finally made the leap in 2023.

With electrification rapidly evolving, Audi’s expanding EV lineup was a major draw. While the Audi e-tron GT remains my ultimate dream car, it was a bit out of reach financially. The Audi Q4, however, struck the perfect balance of utility, performance, and elegance—plus, it’s built less than 100 miles from my hometown in Germany, which made it feel even more special.

Over the past two years, my Q4 has been a trusted and enjoyable companion. Just a few of the things I love about it:

  • The refined interior with premium materials and thoughtful design provides a serene escape from the noise of everyday life.
  • The instant torque from the electric motors makes every drive—from errands to workouts—feel exciting.
  • Remote climate control has been a game changer, ensuring a perfectly comfortable cabin year-round, with a clear windshield even on frosty mornings.

Owning an Audi has been more than just a childhood dream realized—it’s a daily reminder of progress, passion, and the joy of the journey.

The ultimate test is now ahead of us with the upcoming US road trip!
